Sleep Tight Pet Care
I have been in love with animals for as long as I can remember (and probably before then!!). We always had a zoo of animals growing up from snakes and turtles to dogs, hamsters and birds. Whether picked up from the yard, pound or found in nearby parking lot, they all were nurtured and survived to ripe old ages.
I have been the “baby sitter” for my friends’ & family's 4 legged critters for years and have raised my own pups: first Coco my beloved chocolate lab who lived to the ripe old age of 15, and now my sweet boy CJ.
I believe that pets are happier and less stressed when they stay in their own homes. I do my best to keep up with their normal routines and to be the surrogate caregiver while the owners are away. I take great care in making sure your pet is comfortable and happy in your absence. I have been told my calm, positive energy is felt by the animals I care for and even the most aloof kitty cats come to greet me to get belly rubs when I visit. I even had a customer tell me he was a little disappointed his pups weren't happier to see him upon his return from a long trip! My clients tell me they can tell I’ve been there when they come home to happy smiling pets, whether they've been gone for an afternoon or weeks.
I care for every animal like they are my own. I take extreme care to the special needs of all my animals, especially when dealing with those with separation anxiety and behavioral issues.
It is my complete joy to care for animals and I feel so grateful I am able to work in a field I love. Like I always say these days, "my customers are always happy to see me." It’s all about PEACE OF MIND! What a great way to make a living!!
I am very happy to have my friend & associate Kevin Mawby aka "Lippy" help me out on Holidays and busy times when I can only be in one place at a time. All I can say is I trust him with my own dog and have many clients happy to have him walk or stay with their pets if I can't make it. CJ LOVES when Uncle Lippy comes to stay (see photo on links page)
CJ and I can be seen early mornings running around Town Lake (um, I mean Lady Bird Lake), romping with friends around Zilker Park and on the docks of Texas Rowing Center where CJ acts as dock dog and official greeter (see photos in CJ's gallery)!
I am a member of Pet Sitters International and am Insured & Bonded. I am Pet CPR certified with Pet Tech and can administer oral medications (even to the most resistant customers), insulin injections and sub Q fluids. I am certified in Canine Massage.
CJ and I have completed awesome Distance Training, Night Scenting and Air Scenting courses with Lee Mannix. We have also completed FUN, fun, fun training classes out at the park with Nancy Cusick.
CJ is also an AKC Canine Good Citizen and a Divine Canines Therapy dog.
I have completed many classes at Lee Mannix Center for Canine Behavior including “A Natural Approach to Understanding Canine Behavior and Training. I have sat in on many of Lee’s private lessons and am aware of his training techniques.
